Hand cutting a single piece of paper and turning them into an intricate design is the soul of Jupi's artwork
I am a self-taught artist working in this medium of Paper since 1999. I coined the theme “The Art of Paper Cutting” because I liked how it sounded quite simple, and it really is what I do. I’ve decided to work on this medium to give a new life to this old form of artwork.

The Art of Paper Cutting is a process of hand cutting a single piece of paper and turning them into an intricate design is the soul of my work. Along with the nature, diverse cultural themes, their elements, animals, and people inspire my work, blending seamlessly with elements of my Indian heritage. This cultural fusion influences the gentle curves, smooth transitions, and defined lines in my designs.
Using basic tools like knives and scissors, I ensure each piece is crafted with the highest quality and design excellence. I avoid commercial reproduction techniques, making each artwork unique and one of a kind. I use archival materials from start to finish and mount the pieces three-dimensionally. Hand-painted accents add an extra layer of interest to my work.
My artwork captures the beauty of simple objects and larger landscapes, reflecting my passion for the endless possibilities this medium offers. Experimentation is key to my process, constantly pushing to improve and innovate. This journey in paper cutting brings me immense satisfaction and takes my mind to a transcendental state. It’s a journey that keeps getting better.
I hope viewers see the influence of various cultural elements in my work, recognizing the connection between a dying art form and my creativity and enjoying it visually. My goal is to bring as much joy to others through my art as I experience in creating it.
As a full-time artist, I aspire to inspire others to create and preserve this art form for future generations. Life is short, and my dream is to continue creating artwork that the world can enjoy now and in the future.
